At 10:30 AM on September 29th – the Feast of Ss. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels – Bishop James F. Checchio will celebrate the 19th Annual Blue Mass at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen. Gathered together with local, county, state, and federal law enforcement officials, we will honor and pray for those law enforcement officials of all faiths who live and work in the Diocese of Metuchen.

Before joining the diocese to serve as the diocesan director for the Office of the Diaconate in 2016, Deacon Stephen Kern worked in the World Trade Center as an attorney for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was on the sixty-second floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Twenty years later, Deacon Kern shares with us his story of survival and mission for service since that fateful day.
